Crown quouted £2500 for half container, Allied £1900, any reason why I should not jump at the Allied option?

Any horror stories with either company guys??

Can't answer the question but:

We are using Crown it was a toss up between them and Allied but i called Crown and negotiated the price down, not fully as they include MAFF, Customs and putting the furniture back together in their quote, but they did come down what i consider a substantial amount enough for us to say yes to them.

We used Allied - they were fantastic!

Everything packed up quickly, delivered speedily and in good nick. They even spent extra time (leaving about 8pm) putting our wardrobe back together in NZ!

That said go back to Crown with Allied's quote and then play them off against one another!

I just had my quote back from Crown. About double from Pickfords and the other two that quoted. Even though I was impressed with the information they have given so far (a whole welcome pack with some very useful stuff), there is no way I will pay £2700 for what is not even half a shared container..............

Because Pickfords is arranged through work and uses their New Zealand office, I won't actually have to pay until the container arrives on my doorstep. As that will be after I have already earned money there I think I'll go for that. Might be worth finding out for others if you can arranged you relocation that way :)

We used Pickfords who did negotiate on the price, and were excellent. Just watch out that you only pay the actual MAF inspection prices and not excessive handling charges.
