Hi Billy,
We had sent mail to NZ a few weeks ago, it took about 12 days, the time we sent mail over before that it took 6 days, same sort of mail, same sort of envelope. So I guess mail can take pretty long at times..
But yours is on it's way! :nice1
We still are in the waiting room, our originals are being sent back.
Do you remember how long it took for them to complete to assessment?

Ah yes. They had to verify my quals as they do with everyone (apparently UK institutions are good with response times), that took 2 weeks. It took about another 3 weeks for them to confirm their assessment was complete and in the post, which I'm still awaiting..................
I dont want to voice my feelings too much, it sounds like they are under a lot of pressure.

Hi Billy,
My assessment took about a fortnight to arrive, after being posted in Wellington. My actual assessment, after paying for the expedited service, took about four weeks. We paid for the same service for my husband's quals, and are still waiting for his to be processed...3 months up to now! Luckily, I've been able to lodge my ITA based on my results so we've probably wasted £260 on hubby's assessment :uhoh Unfortunately, NZQA are totally dependant on the response times from the issuing institutions, as you are aware.
It would be helpful if they gave you the results by email though. It's frustrating when you know that they know, but you've gotta wait for the postie to tell you!
Good Luck :nice1

My wife's documents were received by the NZQA just before christmas, spoken to our case officer there this week and has still hasn't a response from the organisation that issued my wife's qualification! Luckily our case officer at the NZIS has let us submit our ITA without it and is happy with what she has received so far but cannot process it any further without the NZQA assesment.
Starting to feel very angry about it all as we paid for the fast service. I am also starting to doubt that the NZQA are sending the request to the correct address, fax or email address as when we requested additional information from the exam board last year it took two days to process and return.
Cheers,
Chris.

It is annoying how you have to shell out a vast sum of money to NZQA to do an assessment, and they seem unable to get the necessary verifications in a timely fashion.
As I have said, my case officer told me British quals bodies were usually very easy to deal with, so it sounds like something is not happening as it should.
I would keep badgering her until you get to the root of the problem.
Cheers

Hi Chris,
We live in Holland and we had a school that had merged with another and they renamed twice in the past years!
Maybe if that is the case with your wife's school it might be a good idea to email NZQA with the right adress if you can find out.
Last saturday we were at an emigration fair and there was one person who had the same happen, no reply from the school so the NZQA had been delaying for about 5 months! I think you need to contact your case officer at the NZIS about this.
The NZIS official we met at the fair said it did not happen often, but just in case I think you should contact NZIS about this, I have heard from our NZ agent NZQA might take up to at least 2 or 3 months after they receive your quals to make the assessment.
Such a shame if you paid for speed and get this! :no
