New Zealand - EOI Now?

I'm at NZ now with WHV extend and will expires on 6th JAN 2009.

Shold I apply EOI now before expires? But what if when I apply I tooks too long and I'll be half way to no where......

any reckons?

hmm, can't really say. don't have experience of this but I would suggest appying now. if you have a job and are already working in NZ, then your permanent residence shouldn't take long because they do give priority to people with jobs etc.

if it takes a long time, surely you can contact the immigration dept and ask for an extension while your visa in in process. i can't see them making you leave the country to await processing of your visa? surely not? Maybe phone them and ask.

I will try. Actually I have bad experience with immi when i coming in that i had a 15hour detention waiting for a translator to interview me as I speak english......

But now i only have Working Holiday Visa i thought is a low priority thingy.....

Sorry! can't help you with your question but just curious on what you said above. Why did they need translator if you spoke English? I thought NZ in an English speaking country. Am I missing something here?

That is the problem that I speak in English to them. And they waiting for translator for me. While I don't need them. Hahaha..... Makes me felt racist. But the officer herself are asian ancestor.....

And I won't overstay but I would like to legally stay...

My WHV going to expires this 6th JAN..... :(
