I just found that www.multimap.com now covers New Zealand which it didn't used to do. I have done a few searches and it seems much more comprehensive that NZ own www.wises.co.nz. Multimap even has our road on it which wises doesn't! :nice1

For Wellington maps a good place to start is http://www.wellington.govt.nz/maps/index.html (which links to the map sites given in this thread too).

It has links to all sorts of amenities maps (location of parking for example) as well as a suburb overview and more specific suburb stuff.

We got our Wellington friends to talk us through the "map of all suburbs" which is really useful to get an idea of places to start looking for accomodation.
