Does anyone have any experince of the New Zealand Perreaux Hi Fi Brand. I am planning on buying their SXCD player.

As an avid hifi enthusiast, i'm sad to say that I havn't seen many in NZ. In fact, I don't believe Perreaux and Plinius are well regarded in NZ. At least in local hifi shops in Christchurch.

I had a quick look at their website and the SXCD looks ok. However, i'm not sure how long the cd media will last as meanstream music has taken on a more portable internet/iPOD base form. If I were to look for another CD player, I would venture more to pro-audio. At least a CD player that has balanced outputs. The SXCD's BNC digital connector is nice, but if they were really serious about solving jitter problems, they should go the pro-audio way by use of a BNC "Word Clock" interface in addition to the balanced digital output XLR (AES/EBU standard).
