Has anyone successfully made a claim for damage in transit? We used the insurance provided by PSS as it was just easier (although a more expensive option).

Submitted a claim on 5th November, and have heard nothing .. sent the insurance company several emails and they are not responding.

Tried to phone, but no answer ... will be trying again tonight when it's 9am in the UK.

Is it worth the bother, or should we just accept the loss?

Thought I'd post an update, in case there is anyone else thinking about claiming ....


With the help of PSS, our claim has been settled. We provided them only with a list of damages, and they have paid out nearly the full amount with no dispute.

In the entire process, we had no correspondance from the insurance company at all ... simply one email to acknowledge receipt of our claim form, and then a cheque was received after approx 30 days .... but we are more than pleased with the outcome.

well that's good news. Would have been better if there had been no damages, obviously, but it could have been worse.
