We haven't got any concrete date set, if possible and the NZIS willing, around our summer holiday (maybe august?) but we would like to move to NZ as fast as we can. Preferably outside the Auckland area, maybe the south island. We can't actually go as fast, because we are taking: the kids, the pets, and at least a 20 ft container filled to the rim ;)
We're ready to sell the house, which seems to go better over here then in the UK :hopeso , have already taken care of chipping, vaccinating, blood testing the pets (last year august) Right now we're waiting for the NZQA to send us the result of the assessment of hubby's diploma's and cert's.
After that we can fill out the last empty spots in our online EOI.

Hi Hannah.
Oh i don't even want to go there. "Visitors visa and see what happens" seems so much less stressful (just putting off what may eventually come along of course). Thought of all that form filling and stress is awful...
My worry is that if we start to settle in NZ, get a job etc. and decide to stay then we have everything to sort out from there and will need to return to sell house etc. Our house is in good condition and we don't have much stuff in it so it wouldn't take long to get ready, it's all the paperwork stuff.

We've decided we will head for New Plymouth to begin with, after a family vote (being near the beach won it over for us, despite the black sandflies that live there!)
Are you from the Netherlands orginally? What's it like there.
