If anyone would like a good book to read I can recommend a book called A New life in New Zealand by Paul Goddard. You can buy it on Amazon for under ten pound.
Paul Goddard and his family were on the BBC series Get a new life. The book isn't really about the immigration process more about the family experience how they settled, the homesickness, settling into a new life and how the children adapted, the highs the lows etc. I really enjoyed the book definitely worth a read.

I have to agree with this. I got this book as part of a special offer on Amazon - if
you want to get a feel of what it is like to emigrate to NZ this iis the book for you.
Much better and less bias than "Emigrate with Caution" by Nicola Butler.
Does anyone know when the Get a New Liife special on following up on the family
in NZ will be shown? I'm pretty annoying with the BBC as the keep changing the days
andf times they show the series - I'm worried I will miss the NZ follow up. *:(
Rgds.,
Nick.

Just a note the actual title is "Slipping into Paradise: A New life in New Zealand."

Hi Dave The book I have has no mention of slipping into paradise ....don't know if there is more than one version.

Interesting! The version on the US Amazon has the "Slipping Into Paradise" prefix. In fact, couldn't find it at all using the original title that you gave. I'm pretty sure it's the same book so it must be as you say: two versions.
Sorry for the confusion.
