I now have my ITA - this is a scary rollercoaster!
Couple of questions for the assembled knowledge pool...

When they say you can submit originals of the docs, with a photocopy behind each one, am I right in assuming they send back the originals?

Second - they have asked me for proof of teacher registration and proof of job offer in NZ. I didn't claim points for either of these. Is the sheet asking for all the docs just a form sheet, and I can just point out in my covering letter that I didn't claim points so havent enclosed the docs, or will they make good on their threat of NOT CONSIDERING YOUR ITA IF ALL REQUIRED DOCS ARE NOT INCLUDED (my caps to represent the booming scary voice of NZIS :) )

Any experiences???

yes they send back the origional if you pay the fee for returing documents with the draft of fee payment.
Yes you should include the what you have and what i know the immigration should not mention to submit the proof of job offer if someone not claiming for it.Any how wait for some more suggestions from other fellows.
good luck

Yes, they sent my originals back when then accepted PR. If you need some of your documents (ie passports) thats when you send certified copies.

Are you sure it does not say (e.g teacher registration) - if applicable. Thats what my letter said. There was no need to add anything as I did not apply with a job offer, I'm sure its just a standard letter.

Hi,
just a thought, but if you are are teacher, then I think you have to have proof of teacher registration anyway, whether you've got a job or not! (I think) perhaps someone with more knowledge can add more.

Re the job offer - i would definitely get in touch with them about this incase they have assumed something (like extra points) or incase they think you have a job offer and have got it wrong, I would hate to submit everything and then have a hitch because of a confusion - I would phone/e-mail your case officer asap.

hi jadugar
Could you refer me to where you read about fee (for returning documents)?
I found only this: "If you would like us to return original documents by secure post, please provide a pre-paid self-addressed ENVELOPE or COURIER PACK with your application"

Dear Sovenok,

In a letter received from my EOI officer from Bangkok under the heading of Application there is mention the fee. I m here attaching that wordings

16. Application Fee

Application fee: CNY 9,440 or US$1,370, a US$10 bank fee is applicable. Also, please include US$25.00 as an extra amount if you would like your original documents to be returned back by courier.

Please note that fees are subject to change without prior notice.

Payment methods:
• We only accept cash payment at our counter.
• Please do not send cash in the mail.

If you submitted your application with your main employment as a teacher then they will require you to be registered with the New Zealand Teaching Council. You should have ticked the relevant section on your NZQA application to forward details to them also. Once you get your NZQA stuff back you need to send your application to NZTC. Once that comes back, it goes to INZ. Also, it sounds from your posting that you have applied for immigration with a job offer - if that is the case then you need to send it with you.

I was a bit confused with your post though - are you going out with the intention of teaching? Have you been offered a job already?

I couldn't find this in my ITA papers
It contains only a record of application fee ₤685

I believe you pay the extra fee for a courier (secured delivery), otherwise they should sent it back in "normal" post. Each branch will have its own way of dealing with the courier, London tells you to include a SAPPE (self addressed pre-paid envelope), while Bangkok assumably tells you to send the money for it instead.

moonglum has already specified that the application is without a job offer.
My wife as a secondary applicant using a teaching degree as her primary occupation did not have to provide teacher registration. Icemaiden has said that the primary applicant does have to have registration (by experience?) I would contact INZ about this.

Hmmmmm,
I am a teacher in the UK.
I might be a teacher in NZ, but I dont have registration (I might not get it coz I dont have any teacher qualifications).
I specifically *didn't* claim any points for skill shortage (coz I knew I needed registration for those points) and I didn't claim any points for a job offer, coz I dont have one. I think mebbe they are rushing through the EOIs and making assumptions.
I think I'll mail NZIS and see if they can give me an answer.... Rang up the other day (at £1 per min) and the nice (if not very good at english) person said just write - but I have serious concerns that she actually understood what I was saying!
Will I have a CO before submitting the ITA?

Thanks for all the ideas - even though I'm just getting more concerned atm!!!

Nick

If you are a teacher in the UK, you can apply to have your qualifications assessed by NZQA which I assume you are doing. If they believe you are using your teaching post to be considered (although you say you didn't claim points) then you will definitely have to have NZTC registration before the ITA is considered (personal experience).

Thanks ICEmaiden.
looks like I have two chances -

I *might* get registration via track 2 (will find out in feb)

or

I could just tell them to toally ignore the fact I'm a teacher, and see if they will assess me on the experience gained before I started teaching - would give me 115 points vs a selection point of 110.

Fun this eh?
