Can anyone recommend a cheap source for Inkjet printer cartridges? I'm just needing to replace some now for a Brother printer.

I checked in the Warehouse and Dick Smith's and they're pratically as much to replace as to buy another new printer! It was admittedly cheap one, but I can see why if they tie you in to expensive printer cartridges. The Warehouse was a couple of dollars cheaper than Dick Smith's but there must be a cheaper source.

Why don't you try Cartridge World, they have a few stores in Auckland, we use them all the time in the UK:nice1.

Yes that is normal, shows how much profit they make of cartridges.

Can you refill them ?.

Some cartridges have a chip to stop this but if you take it to Cartridge World for the 1st refill (they will have a chip reset), and they you can fill after that. Also they will have put the refill hole in the correct place.

If you do a considerable amount of printing, I would suggest going with an aftermarket ink tank refilling system. I bought one off eBay for our HP Photosmart 8250 printer. These are special ink tanks that have an auto-resetting chip built inside for each time you refill. Most are see-through transparent so you know how much ink is left and refilling them is very easy with no mess.

We use to do all our digital photo prints at the photo place kiosks but found that buying the photo paper and cheap ink works out to be more convenient and less expensive.

If you don't do much printing, then I highly recommend TradeMe.
