Need garage/storage/sleep out advice

Ok, so we've got the house of our dreams :clap and we've been in for two weeks and have now got ideas of the things we need to adapt to fit with us, ie get rid of that old cast iron bath!! Yes, I know the thought of lounging in a beautiful cast iron bath with claw feet sounds very romantic, but when you're five foot and a peanut and you can't reach the other end it ain't that much fun believe me :D

But I digress, the first priority is some sort of garage/storage and if possible a sleep out attached. There was one here but it's gone now (long and sad story) but we are left with a huge concrete base, yippee.

Can anyone recommend a company, or have any words of wisdom as to who to stay away from? We've contacted the 'big one', you know the one who can ;) and are waiting to hear from them. Any advice would be great.

Cheers

Jeannie

I had planned to do that, but have no idea how to get it out of the house :D Could be an interesting task, I'll take photos ;)

Someone told me recently they'd sold their kitchen on trade me and part of the "price" was that the buyer would remove it....

Which would be fine for the bath as long as they don't ruin the entire room. That's all I'd be afraid of.

I wish I could stretch out in a tub. Just being able to straighten my legs and still have them underwater at the same time as my torso is a dream of mine.

Would need a large water heater too though. :)

we've just ordered a garage off our local Versatile Buildings dealer - planning permit just granted (they sorted all that out for us) and in the new year we'll have the base done then it should be here start of Feb. So I'll let you know ;)

we're getting one that's long enough to have a room at the end but it's not officially a sleepout as that involves a whole different set of building regulations etc etc. We plan to just use it as a hobby room/workshop etc.

Ideal do them, too, and seem to be quite popular round our way: http://www.idealbuildings.co.nz/garages/twoinone/twoinone.html

What about something like this?: www.justcabins.co.nz
I know you can rent them, maybe you could buy one all ready to park on your concrete pad?

People we know on our estate had their garage built by versatile and they were very pleased with it. So much so they wish they had them build their house
