Hi everyone
we have come to the conclusion that if we are offered WTR visa (instead of PR that we are aiming for) that we will give it a damn good go of trying to find a job so in preparation for this we're starting the hard hit on the employement front as we will have very little time to move if offered WTR (3 months) and I was hoping that someone out there could assist, advise etc.
I am an environmental manager. I do environmental management systems, ISO14001, environmental auditing and risk assessment for a paper manufacturing plant. Our application to NZ is based on my qualification being in Environmental science (environmental research science is on the skills list) so I would also be comfortable looking at work in other areas of environmental science, but my focus and experience at the moment is in management.
Where do I start? I've looked on Seek and trade me but are there any other sites specifically for environmental science?
and recruitment agencies that focus of science/environment etc?
any ideas for consultancies or companies who hire this type?
At the moment by major problem is trying to translate what I do into New Zealand terms. It seems that environmental management is often lumped into environmental health & safety (not something I can do as no health & safety training). I'm not too clear on what environmental planning involves but I'm sure my skills would be tranferrable into something like this except that without the quals and experience in this, probably not likely to be champing at the bit to hire me for this. So . . bit unclear on what type of jobs are out there for someone of my experience.
basically any help would be very well received.
