Is anyone aware of a directory or list of associations in New Zealand?

The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) provides a link to the New Zealand Society of Association Executives (NZSAE) at http://www.nzsae.org.nz, but that site only provides NZ maps by city and no other information that I can see.

Based on a Google search, there are several associations in the Wellington area. We're hoping to find a central directory of all NZ association in order to help us in the job search.

Thank you for any help you can provide!

Thanks for the link! I will contact them and see what they offer.

Just as an FYI - Associations typically represent a particular profession or industry. Most associations have lobbyists who advocate for changes in laws and regulations that will benefit a particular group. That's why there are so associations in the Washington DC area (where we live) and, apparently, in Wellington.

They also typically provide professional development courses, organize national meetings, provide networking opportunities, have numerous publications, and provide information to the general public. There are associations for everything imaginable - from teachers to physicans to plumbers. I always thought it would be fun to work for the Snack Food Association or the National Beer Wholesalers Association.

Ah, I see there's possibly a language difference involved here - you may perhaps find that unions are more what you are looking for, http://union.org.nz/ or perhaps professional associations. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=nz+professional+associations&aq=f&oq=
