Google maps is great to use just click here (http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?hl=en&tab=wl) :)

Just type in the place you want to view and then you can zoom in to get a more detailed picture, also they now have street view which is cool :nice1

I recommend you to try maps.live.com
it shows even 3D views, not cartoons, real pictures of buildings, from 4 sides

Sure. Unfirtunately, NZ cities have not been scanned yet.

Sorry but I can't see where Live Maps is anywhere near as detailed as Google Earth, Maps or Street View. Care to elaborate?
