I applied in June08 for my son's birth certificate and guess what? Still not done! The call centre said I needed to re-register him and fax the forms though. I go to Wynberg who refused to stamp and sign the forms saying head office gave the wrong info!!

Anybody out there have a contact at Home Affairs!!

This is the LAST bit of info needed to send off our ITA so you can imagine i'm getting quite desperate!!!

Hi Susan - I might be able to help - we had the exact same problem when we were trying to get our DS birth certificate and we -somewhere- got these numbers which might be of help. I seem to think it was for people who were having trouble to get their ID books - believe it is for the Minister of Home Affairs offices - but hope it will help you.
They make you so mad dont they - specially when OH and I had to get ours from Zimbabwe and it only took 2 days!!!(012) 8106126 or (012)810 6093

Everything else from them eg passports went so smoothly, not sure why this has to drag on so long!
