Hi,

Just tried Skype for the first time and it's really cool :P Frodo's brother lives in Spain, so we tried it out with him. We've got a snazzy wee headset (reminds me of when I used to work in the bank  ) and just chat away.

You can also use it for dialing a land line. The global rate (including NZ) is 10 Euro for 10 hours.

I haven't downloaded it on my ibook yet but apparently a wee pop up box appears if someone's trying to speak to you :P You can add photos to profiles and stuff.....it's really really cool. Ok I'm starting to sound like a geek here

Frodo also says he can send files and stuff to his bruv, but I don't really understand that stuff so just ignored him :laugh

We're going to buy headsets for all the family as leaving presents LOL

I use Skype in conjunction with Messenger for video-calls to my mate in Perth.
I agree, Skype is good for audio, much better than Messenger, almost as good as a landline I've found (seems to be marginally more delay). It will be good when they add video to the service (provided it's still free)
John.

Hi John,

Do you not just need a webcam at each end for pics? I'm not very techy so will mention it to Frodo and see what he says.

Not sure if I like the idea of pics though :uhoh
