Hi all,
Well I find myself in a bit of a sticky wicket.
My employer wants me to start work ASAP with a "no later than" date of 4th April.
The problem I have is that things seem to be taking an age. I have been able to book my medical appointments for the 30th Jan as that is the only time all of the family are available when the Doc's have a space, but by then all the other paperwork should be ready to go for delivery to immigration in London. So i'm guessing that the meds will be ready mid Feb and the ITA will be lodged then. Is it worth contacting my Case Officer when we lodge the ITA to ask for time scales or will I just get the bog standard reply? Another idea was to deliver them myself, train from north west UK to london, and ask for an oppointment to see my case officer at the same time, do they do this?
If there seems not to be time to get my PR by the time I need to go (end March) then I am thinking of applying for a work visa, pending the PR approval.
Firstly is this possible? Also there are obvious problems, ie, how do I have the PR visa put in my passport when my application is sat in London and i'm sat in NZ? How soon can a work visa be organised? Are there any draw backs or problems with this course of action? Can I book a one way flight?
Any thoughts, or advice would be greatfully received.
Cheers:)
