Has anyone had their car repaired after a minor accident?

If so how much does it cost in comparison to the UK?

The OH has scraped the paint off, and dented the metal, over two doors in our Ford Falcon and we are trying to work out if it is worth the money to fix it (given that it is reasonably likely to happen again in the next 12 months!).

Someone helpfully scraped the rear bumper on my Jag a year and a half ago whilst it was parked. I went to a respray shop recommended by the dealer and had the bumper removed, prepared and fully resprayed for $326.

When I bought the car in 2003 in the UK it had very similar damage in exactly the same place and it cost 260GBP or ~$690 to get it repaired there.
