Well the count down has definitely started. :bluebanana We're heading for (hopefully) sunny Paraparaumu on 17th Feb and slowly going through my 'to do' list. One of which is to register our family with a GP surgery - my question being can anyone recommend any to me?:)

We moved from the UK in October 2008 and are currently living in Paraparaumu. The first couple of GP surgeries we contacted were not accepting new registrations immediately - apparently there is a shortage of doctors on the Kapiti Coast!

However, try Coastal Medical Rooms (http://www.coastalmedical.co.nz/) which is in the town but is probably a smaller and less well known surgery than the others. We had no problem registering with them. Not sure if you'd be able to do it before arrival but it might be worth emailing them just in case.

hi twig and and early welcome! we registered with coastal med rooms as well. we got in right away when jason needed to get some stitches out after an accident and we registered the family at that appointment for a GP. i have been there 3 times for visits, and they are very friendly there.
