Why do you want to do that? I took a gift to my recruiter AFTER I was successful at interview as a 'thank you' gift.

I used to interview people in one of my previous jobs and I was sent on a trainee course for interviewers and one of the things we were told to be very aware of was the people who bought gifts for the interviewer as it can be seen as a bribe. Not sure if its the same in NZ but personally I would not employ someone who bought along gifts. After they have been accepted then thats different .It is your skills and personality that interests them most. All the best anyway.

I agree - I think the culture in NZ is such that you would be struck off the list immediately. Don't do it - it is not normal conduct in NZ and will be seen as attempted bribary.
