Try Turners Auctions (I think they are based out Petone way). I bought mine from Turners, but in Auckland.

We got a good deal on a Ford focus at Steven's motors in Lower Hutt. We were also treated fantastically at WCD (wholesale cars direct) in Lower Hutt they had a great range in stock.

Got to be Trademe, we got our first from there but it came from a dealer over in Lower Hutt, can't remember the name but if your interested pm me & I'll look at the map & will be able to direct you there, easy enough

I've put a depost down on a Toyota Vitz (Echo) RS 1.5 - 2001, 91,000km $11,000. I hope its a good deals it's hard to tell in a foreign country!

I don't know about the NZ market but in Dubai Toyota Echo 2003 is worth US$3000, you can buy it even cheaper.
Is it worth to buy from Dubai and take it to NZ. Shipping might cost around US$2,000

The Vitz and Echo while similar are different cars. :) Very reliable though.
We got our 5 door 1.3 2002 Echo at auction for $5700. I don't remember how many km are on them. :)

Echo is the ugliest car ever a company built. Vitz hatchback and saloon both are nice looking.

Hey! Just because tall people can fit into an economical car does not make it ugly- it makes it sensible for people like me to buy. :)
Besides there are several different body types of Echo- which one are you referring to?
