Was just wondering if there is any Burns supper or anything next Sunday (25th) to celebrate Robert Burns' 250th birthday? I am itching for some haggis!! :D

I know that haggis can be bought from a shop in Tawa, but if anyone knows a butchers anywhere in Wellington, can they let me know?

Cheers :nice1

Can't help being on SI but would love a Burns Night :yes Have many happy memories of haggis, selkirk grace and toasts to the laddies and lassies etc .... My OH was even Chief of the St Andrews Society and that was in Malawi and yes we did have haggis :D

Hopefully you'll find some like-minded folks :)

There are something like 25 Scottish dancing societies in Wellington I vaguely remember from the last ceidlih I went to at the place below, which they run monthly! Unfortunately I can't find the original website or message form another email group that I belong to. However, if you try searching I'm sure you will come up with something to link to the following in Wellington:

"Burns Supper Ceilidh night on the evening of Saturday 24th? It is from 7:30 - 10:30pm at the Pipe Band Hall in Newtown. It is $15 entry and you can bring your own booze."

If you go expecting folksy and homespun, you'll be in the right mindset:)
