A very popular one which is used by a number of the shipping companies themselves is NZ Van Lines. I understand they're quite good.

Leslie - aren't your shipping company arranging door to door delivery? As Diny said before, NZ Van Lines appears to be the company of choice.

Doing Customs and Maf clearance yourself is relatively simple I would guess it took Rhonda about a 3 hours total to organise incl research and 'cos she had to return with me as the importer of the cars. Both maf and Customs are at 50 Anzac Avenue 4th floor and were very helpful.

We did it ourself because "The Moving Company" wanted $900NZ just for the MAF inspections (We had two containers - one which was MAF inspected when unsealed and opened on Wiaheke island - that one cost about $170NZ incl. Ferry fare out to the island, straight to the MAF inspector, the other was opened and unsealed at the Moving Co. cost $160NZ because there were 2 cars to inspect.

Reading between the lines you may have packed the container yourself which may attract more customs attention. MAF was a doddle and in one sense I was disappointed with their relatively cursory inspection, after all we came here for unspoilt natural beauty etc. and wouldn't want to see it spoilt, but then all the natural hazards from the UK already exist here.

Can't make any recommendtions as to who to use to delver your container. I presume it is a hired container and will need to return pronto to your shipper. only advice I would have is that if you use a haulage firm they will probably charge an extra over cost for the lorry sitting idle while you ? unload the container. This may be built in if you use a "removals co" to do the delivery and unload.

All the best
