Hi, I am going to come to New Zealand in half of the June and I would like to start to gather some more info about the job situation in IT business. Just would like to know, if the June is good for searching for a job in Auckland and so on.
I have 5+ years experience with designing/developing J2EE applications, got bachelor's degree in IT and some java certificates, good knowledge of databases (MySQL, Oracle - PL/SQL) and I would say I am good in linux and web technologies as well. The problem would be that I am from Czech republic so I do not have native english (but I live in UK for one and half year and don't have any major issues with technical speaking and so on).
Does anyone know what salary would I ask for/get and also what is salary difference in Aucklad/Wellington/Christchurch for this type of job? I mean, is it better to stay in Auckland (where I probably would get more money but I will also spend more on rent/living) or should I try to look also in smaller cities (but for some time I would like to stay where the sun is! :)
