Well... 6 days actually!

We are two 29 year olds that moved from Surrey, with no kids. We have been so busy - a non stop six days. We are staying in Kelson, Lower Hutt at the moment (at my sister in law's house) We have been test driving cars and looking at houses. Not decided on a car yet, but am tempted to get a Toyota Vitz RS 1.5. Today we found a lovely place to rent in Ngaio and we really want it, but there were 4 other couples at the open home so we don't really know how to secure it :( I wish it could just be ours. Waiting anxiously by the phone as we speak...

I start work on Monday at an IT reseller very close to the BNZ tower. Nervous and excited at the same time, but I went in on Wednesday to 'meet the team' and they all seem very friendly so that's a good sign.

GF is finding it hard to get a Primary School job as classroom teacher, so she may have to do Kindy instead which is not as challenging, but if it's all she can find it'll have to do i suppose.

Bank accounts are open with ASB, we've been eftpos-ing away like true kiwi's. Strange that our cards don't have our names printed on them - only a number???!!

We've also been to see the FIL in Paraparaumu and the MIL in Raumati beach. Walked all over the city, drunk too much coffee (isn't the coffee good here) and eating ice creams at Frank Kitts park.

Went to a great free concert at the Botanical gardens and had a picnic which was lovely. Been to Kaitoke and had a picnic there too, walked along the hutt river from kelson to Melling station a couple of times, and went on a wet walk in Belmont park. And tomorrow I need to get a haircut and then we will go to scorching bay and check out the beach and see if the cafe that replaced the chocolate fish is any good (will wear sunscreen as my nose got burned already and is peeling).

Our stuff has arrived at the port, so as soon as we find a property we can get it delivered which is 'sweet as'.

Looking forward to any meet-ups that happen in Welly! What great weather at the moment :)

Good luck with the house, fingers crossed
Ice creams in Frank Kitts are the best, fond memories of just last year sitting & eating ice cream drinking cappuccino whilst dd1 was asleep, no chance of that anymore
Good to see you've settled in :nice1
