:clap We arrived just over a week ago. I have just completed my first week at work. yeh!! it was tough going, in the heat.
We are still finding our feet, but absolutely love it. As some of you know I am here with my daughter, and my husband and son hopefully will follow once the house is sold in the UK, who knows how long that will take.

Has anyone got any suggestions on how we can meet people, I am meeting people through work, but my daughter cannot work until we have residency, otherwise it can be jeopardised.

Can anyone recommend any nice places to go in Christchurch that would suit a 19year old and a more mature lady lol.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. :bluebanana

Has it been that hot in Stockport? Or are you keeping the old address until the whole family are reunited ;)

Hope that you got along to the meet

Get along to the meet if you can, there are at least a couple of newbies like ourselves.
Hopefully see you there

http://www.rotaract.org.nz/clubs.html

There is a Rotaract Club in central Chch - a great way to meet local people around the same age group and participate in the local community at the same time.

I had a great time in Rotaract back in the UK and am now a member of Rotary in Auckland. I've found it a very good way to meet a lot of people around the city and keeps us both very busy socially and out in the community :)
