New Zealand - It's a long wait for a case officer.....

Last August we applied for a PR after being sponsored by our son.

We were told that we would be allocated a case officer within 4 months and as christmas arrived we discovered the time had been changed to 6months.

Now the goal posts have moved again, today we have received a letter informing us that we will now be allocated a case officer within 12 months. :wah

I just hope that when we finally get assessed everything goes smoothly.

Ouch, that is a long time to wait. I take it you are applying from the UK? I am begining the process of sponsoring my parents and will be applying to Christchurch as they want me to act as their agent. I know how you feel because they came last March and fell in love with the place and we made the decision in May to go for sponsoring, but we will have only had our PR for three years from the 1st of March this year. We have already waited best part of a year, so the thought of another year is a bit daungting:wah:wah

We have applied through London, perhaps you will have more luck with Christchurch.

At least it gives us longer for the housing market to pick up and in 3 weeks time we will be flying out for a months holiday so we do have that to look forward to.

seeing as a uk visitor can go for 12 months, couldnt you get sorted in advance? unless you need work that is...

That seems like an unbelievable wait! Is that only for the family category or are they generall snowed under with applications? If so, how long for the skilled migrant category? They are really bad at updating the London website: the last time it was done was 6th December.

I just noticed the family stream update on 21st January - 12 months allocation and then 4 - 6 months processing. Incredible waiting times.
