Question on submitting the ITA- We just received the birth certificate for our daughter who was born in December. We are going tomorrow to apply for her passport, but there is the chance that it won't be ready by the time we need to submit our ITA (deadline 10th of March, and I hope to fed-ex it by the end of feb).

I've looked at the residence handbook, and it seems to imply that provided we send in a birth certificate for her, sending in the passport may be optional?? Is this a correct interpretation? If anything, it would only be slightly delayed and we would get it to the CO asap.

Your thoughts or experience appreciated, thanks!

We rushed to get our baby a passport (try photographing an 11 day old!). In the UK you can get a passport doen super quickly so we turned it round in 2 weeks. I'd suggest giving NZIS a call. London office guidelines imply that you need to submit everything in one bundle so I'd see what your guys suggest before falling back on sending the passport separately.

Good luck (with the baby and the ITA!)

We submitted birth certificates and endorsed our two children's names and date-of-birth on their mother's passport. INZ accepted that and when we got them passports, we notified VO with copies. In principle, this is commonly the practice for less than 2 year olds. Even in case you need to take a flight with the baby. hope that helps
