The update is that nothing has happened as of yet. Obviously the bill is still being tossed around committee. It was supposed to be voted in or out by the end of February- but no word yet. Don't know what is holding it up other than it is pretty controversial.
It appears that the retroactive effective date of the bill will change from Jan 2005 to who knows when. I have been told by a bureaucrat that if you have your EOI in now, you will probably be held under the old 3 year versus the new 5 year to citizenship rule. However, this is unknown for certain until the bill actually passes. I will keep the group informed as I hear anything. I check in every 30 days or so with the powers that be.
