Hi I'm wondering if many out their could tell me what they found more helpful in getting a job, recruiters or going out to big companies with CV as OH has been going throw recruiters with no such luck at the moment :wah would be happy with any information thanks.

im going for a mixed bag approach. it is fair to say though that recruiters arent really interested unless you are going to be in NZ as I guess they get loads of enquiries form people fishing to go to NZ

As the OP is in Wellington, I doubt that this is the problem.

As far as recruiters and going direct are concerned, you may need to try both approaches. Some companies won't use recruitement agencies so you would miss out on these opportunities. Other companies won't go direct and only use recruitement agencies.

OH is in IT and as we have been here now for 2 months and only one interview we just want to try a different approach as OH has only went throw recruiters with no luck:exit

Scotty places are screaming out for IT, we struggle at the hospital to get and retain good staff as they can name their salary, I suggest some cold calling CV's pm me if you want a contact here!
