Business Class flights

Hi - I just wondered if anyone had flown on the new A380 in business class in either Emirates of SIA. Any feedback would be great.

My Dad flew on the Emirates one as part of a special hand-over flight in Dubai (he works in aviation in the UAE so got an invite).

It was only an hour out of Dubai and around the UAE but he did say that it was much more comfortable and quieter than the normal Emirates business class (which isn't to say that the normal business class is bad - it isn't!).

Anyone else? What about Premium Economy? Is it worth upgrading from economy?

before our flight next week, we have always flown premium or club for long haul. virgin premium is better than ba club even though ba have a full bed in club so I guess you need a personal recommendation

I've flown BA Premium before and didn't really rate it. A bit more legroom but that is about it (and due to my size I normally manage to get myself an exit seat in economy anyway so extra legroom isn't all that special).

Never flown Virgin Premium (everytime I should have I've been upgraded to Upper Class! :) ) but it is supposed to be excellent. Air NZ Premium looks good too.

However the only A380 operator with a premium economy class is QANTAS - and I wouldn't fly them for safety and service reasons!

Hi,

I have no experience of the A380, but have flown business and premium economy with both Virgin and Air New Zealand on several occasions. I'd never fly long haul in economy, but that's personal preference.

I think the premium product is really worth it if you can get seats upstairs on the 747. The best seats to request are 22HK as these are fire exit seats. If you do a search on this forum, you'll see pictures I've posted for someone else who was asking.

Business is a lot more money, but on some occasions I think it's really worth it. What we did on our last trip back to the UK was fly premium with Air NZ but my hubby joined Koru Club so we had lounge access all the way through. This worked very well indeed, especially in LHR when BA canceled our domestic flight.

My Dad got to fly on the A380 in economy, he didn't even know this until he went to board :D He was very impressed with economy and the space, quietness and comfort. He said the food was better too. He's flown on the ordinary planes before now in economy and he thought they were ok. Can't unfortunately comment on business and first though.

I wouldn't go for Emirates though, my in laws have just done that return flight. They ended up going from Heathrow to Singapore, stop in Oz then on to Auckland and finally Wellington. Felt that Singapore Airlines was a lot easier with just the one stop between Heathrow and Auckland. Going back they went via Dubai and it was the same stopping in Oz but a long flight 14 hours from there to Dubai.

I flew on an A380 with SIA in October and it was superb. Even the stewardess said flying a 380 was infinitely better than the others (and I suppose she should know). There was no noise that I noticed and turblence was almost non-existent.

Flew a 747-300 (I think) from Singapore to Auckland and you could definitely tell the difference.

My husband hates flying and even he said the A380 flight was good.

Hope this helps.
