Changi Airport, Singapore 'Stopover'... what to do with suitcases?

Hello

We've just booked our accommodation in Singapore using the 'Stopover Holiday' package via the Singapore Airlines website. However, we're wondering what's best to do with our suitcases.

We'll have quantity 4-off 130 litre suitcases, plus hand luggage each and don't fancy taking them to our hotel... do they have secure storage facilities at Changi airport, as we'd prefer to pack one suitcase that will be sufficient for our 2 night stopover in Singapore.

Thanks for your help :nice1

It is five years since I used the Singapore Stopover so things may have changed a bit but:

When we arrived at Changi we went to the Singapore Stopover counter and they arranged for mini van to take us and our luggage to the hotel. This service was included in the price.

It is likely that such transport will be shared with guests going to other hotels, and I am sure that they stated in the documentation that your luggage may not travel with you if there are space constraints, but they will arrange for it to get to your hotel.

If your cases are transported separately, don't worry about them being stolen or pilfered - that won't happen.

Don't worry about being left to struggle with your cases, they won't let that happen either.

If you are leaving a UK winter behind, make sure that you have some Singapore suitable clothes in your carry on luggage, just in case they do separate you from your main cases.

Hi Clappy

Thanks for the information... yes, all what you've mentioned is confirmed in our booking details, however we really don't see it necessary to have all our luggage transported to our hotel, which is why we'd prefer to leave the bulk of our luggage at Changi airport should a secure storage facility exist.

I've emailed SIA reservations to see what they say, however if anyone's had previous experience they can pass on with regards storing luggage at Changi airport it'll be much appreciated.

Thanks :nice1

Hi Sara

That's great and reassuring to know, thanks very much... have you used the service yourself?

My brother-in-law used this service when he came from Canada .It seems to be a good one-So when are you flying into Singapore?

... we arrive in Singapore early morning of Sunday 8th March. Going off reports, I reckon we'll be using the 'baggage storage facility' so we can then simply forward just 1 suitcase to our hotel room and get doing the touristy bits around Singapore itself.

Thanks again :nice1

If you feel a little bit uneasy with the baggage counter @Changi airport then you can always feel free to keep your baggage in one of our rooms - We stay close to the airport (10 to 15 mins drive) and then pick it up on your way to the airport on the final day

And if at all you have decided to use the baggage service @ airport then dont forget to use the MRT service into the city -Its pretty cheap and useful .Do let me know if i can be of any help at any time during ur stay here

Hi sara2k

That's very kind of you, thank you. However, we've decided to store 3 of our large suitcases at the airport and have the other one taken to our hotel via our pre-booked Singapore Airlines stopover holiday package.

Thanks again though :nice1
