Don't want to get too excited yet...

...but we may have sold our house BEFORE it has even gone on the market!!!:clap
Given the current economic state, we were worried about getting it sold and decided we would hang on until a little after the ITA gets submitted before tarting the place up a bit and getting it on the market. A few weeks ago my sister in law mentioned that they would be very keen to buy it...we casually talked about it, but not for one minute did I think she was serious. Bumped in to my MIL today at the supermarket and went for a coffee and she told me that BIL & SIL are VERY serious about buying our house and are even getting excited about the idea.
Don't want to count my chickens before they hatch, but I do so hope that they ARE serious about it. They would be closer to family, better route to get to work and will have a smaller mortgage but a bigger house (and of course we would be sorted then!!! :D)
I suppose if all else fails, we give them first refusal and see just how serious they are on the idea...does sound promising though as they want to talk to us about it (just hope they don't think they are going to get a family discount!!!:laugh)

......and ........how did the meal go or more importantly.... the house?
( Do they have their own house to sell?)

We didn't get to discuss much at the meal, my 3 year old nephew threw the mother of all tantrums so BIL and SIL a little pre-occupied trying to tame him! We all left pretty sharpish as it seemed to go on forever!!!
As Marybelle suggested to me in a PM, we shall have to invite them over here for a drink so they could combine it with a viewing :D
Yes, they have their own house to sell so fingers crossed for that.

Ok, been a while since we last posted on this thread so I thought I would add an update.
We decided not to hang around for the rellies to get their act together. My BIL is the type of guy who would be happy if WE sold his house for him, WE did all the leg work, WE packed his stuff up for him, WE moved his stuff in to our place and simply just handed him a piece of paper to sign and it all be done...so easy of course :uhoh!!!!
So we have by-passed them now and have an agent coming round to do the paperwork and take some piccies today so I am taking a break from all the tidying now with a cuppa :clap (if my 3yr old stands still for too long she'll be polished, vaccumed, or stuffed in some random cupboard :laugh). If the relatives want to make an offer...they are of course very welcome, but I doubt BIL would get round to it :D.

Good Luck with the house Julie.
We are at the tidying up part and setting the stage...now DH has to start the painting and decorating.
Do you think it would be cruel to keep my 7 year olds in cages for the duration?

Try bribery :laugh...its worked wonders for our little tasmanian devils :D. They have managed to keep their bedroom tidy though without much persuasion, bless 'em!

This may sound a little unfair to some, but for us, selling our house back in the UK seemed to benefit greatly from this approach!!!
Arrange viewings to co-incide with the times your partner is at home, then 'hey presto', bundle up said kiddies, put leads on the dogs (if you have them) and 'vanish' to the local park about 10 minutes before said viewers arrive!!!! :laugh
House then remains immaculate and there are no interruptions from screaming ab dabs and barking mutts!!!!
Get partner to phone you when coast is clear...:nice1
