Hi,

Put my thoughts of emigrating to NZ on hold for christmas with plans of kick off the process in Jan. Was going to use an agency - Golden Sands - as my wife & I had met them @ an emigrate event and they seemed to offer a quality service.

Now we recieve an email telling us that new licensing laws require "anyone providing New Zealand immigration advice from New Zealand to be licensed by 4th May this year". That means the UK associates I've been dealing with are not longer part of Golden Sands:confused:

Has anyone else been affected by this (sudden) change in licensing law? Can anyone else recommend a good agency?

I think most people on this forum (unless you have a difficult case) will not have an agency to recommend as most people here are do-it-yourselfers :)
There are some people that used agencies though so you might do a forum search and follow up with some private messages if you don't get many replies here. Good luck!

The experience of forum members collectively is more than any immigration consultant can possibly think of. What consultant will do except filling up forms, you will have to provide every information. There is nothing they will do except probably writing a covering letter with your application forms, which you will find here as well and probably a better one. You can have best advice and personal experience of forum members which no consultant can possibly have.

So think again before you go ahead with a consultant.

Can you not deal with them directly over in NZ??? We have done from the start and Leanne Climo is our case manager.

Will PM you.

Rizjunior - spot on!! The only value an agent would have added to my application would have been extra zeros!

If you do your research, and ask any questions you may have on this forum, Im certain that you will be just as successful in the application process.

But all the best either way.........

Thanks for the feedback. Dropped a couple of mails in the agencies inbox to find out has exactly happened & then decide next steps.

Definately lots to think about....
