Hi all,
I am fairly new to this site- I have been mostly a lurker though my husband has posted a bit (Printman).
Anyhoo, I am an RN in the US, just got my NZ nursing registration and we are about to submit our EOI in the next 6-8 weeks.
Though I have read a bit about the differences and similarities of working as an RN in NZ vs the US, I would love some more info. What are the main differences in practicing in NZ vs the US? What have been the challenges for you in your transition to working in NZ? What do you like and dislike? How have you been viewed by your new colleagues? What kinds of questions were you asked when interviewed for jobs? Also, any clarification on how some of the specialties in nursing in NZ compare to our specialties in the US (ie community health nurse in NZ vs US, practice nurse in NZ vs ? in the US, public health nurse in NZ vs US).
Any and all info would be helpful.
