I know, I know, these are daft questions but i just need to make sure before i submit.

at the question, Please provide details explaining why you meet the minimums standards of English required.

i answered, "i am English and it is my mother tongue"

is that alright?

do i also include a YES for being convicted of a single speeding offence?

Rimbo -

Hi. I just put "English is our native language," and our EOI went through fine, so I would guess what you said is ok.

I didn't think to include anything about a speeding ticket I got years ago. At least here in the US that's not really considered a conviction, and it didn't show up on our clean FBI reports. My guess would be no, you don't need to put that. That said, I'm new to posting, so hopefully a more experienced forum user will be along shortly.

Best of luck!!!

we didn't include tickets etc.

not sure what english as mother tongue means anymore as at least 50% of britons speak gangsta rap or a northern dialect you need a translator to understand. curse mtv

we put english as 1st language and studies / qualifications were in english. believe thats enough. were your formal quals in uk because its an abvious link?

I think you can edit it until it is selected. But maybe not.

We had changes that needed done after we were selected and we had to send them in via email.

On the EOI I put down born and educated to tertiary level in the UK.

There was a note in the ITA note saying that as you are appying from the UK you don't need to prove your English language skills.

I just put that I was born, raised and educated in the UK, and that my quals were obtained in the UK, and that was fine.

Unintelligible northern dialect? That's good coming from somebody from "Landon mite innit"!! :laugh

I refer my case to the unitelligible drivel spoken on Eastenders m'lud.

I know what you mean though - gansta rap slang innit, mispronouncing "tt"
i.e Be''er - completely missing the two letters out completely - aaargh. :eek

Regarding speeding tickets, I put the information on about them, as someone on here earlier said that it was classed as an offense, as it is breaking the law. We still got selected.

Speeding fines don't show up on the Police report though.

Re Lanugage, stated parental lanuguage and that born and educated in UK, and English our native language.

Good Luck.

I can confirm what Nicola said. We submitted our EOI, which I edited because I got my sisters DOB wrong!
It took me a little while to figure it out, but the EOI is editable until selection.
