HI

Has anyone who sent their ITA'S to London in March heard anything at all yet ?

Sent ours on the 15th ,it has application recieved on the web page ,but no Emails ,letters or phone calls as yet !!

I know they must have received more than the normal number of applications this month and the easter break too .......

So if anyone has heard or hears something soon ,could you post :nice1

Thanks ,

Marie - they got ours on Feb 15th, and we heard from our assigned officer exactly two weeks later. So, especially considering the Easter break (as you say) and the possible fact that this seems to be a fairly popular time of year for officers to take leave, you are on target time-frame wise. You should hear something this week, I reckon. :nice1

Cheers,
Matt.

 Tick Tock eh?

Am I right in thinking they ALWAYS email (if you've stated that as your preferred mode of contact) to arrange a phone interview? :typing
I don't want to be caught out answering the phone without my cribnotes handy!!

Marie,
Our ITA was received in London on the 14th of March. We haven't heard anything either - no email, no letter, nothing.

Have others received notification after about two weeks, like Matt?

Hi Marie, the days dragg don't they when you're waiting for a reply :wah Our ITA was received on 9th March and we received the 'standard acknowledgement letter' about a week later (nothing by e-mail).
No case officer assigned, just like you - waiting again :?
Will chat more about things on Saturday, maybe we'll both hear something during the week :hopeso
Try not to worry to much, porbably just like you said - Easter and high volume of applications this month.

Our friends put in (with a job offer) in March - It was the mid-March draw -they received their ITA a few days ago.

Mid-March guys - I'm sure you'll hear soon, probably this week. Yes, the days sure do drag. But bear in mind that even if you haven't had an e-mail yet, that doesn't mean your CO isn't on the case already and checking your papers. After all, our CO got in touch for the first time obviously having done her checking, as she said "next step is interview".

:nice1

Cheers,
Matt.

Sent my ITA off on 15 March. Got a receipt on 24 March (PP'd on behalf of our case officer).

I was told by our case officer that when the ITA is received by NZIS, it goes to their 'inwards remittance team', presumably to take our fees, then to their 'lodgement team' who send out the acknowledgement. It can take up to 2 weeks to arrive on the case officers desk.

Strangely though, I sent our medicals and NZQA report separately, which got passed straight through. Last time we emailed, she had these reports but not yet our ITA.

Hi,

I hand delivered my ITA on 15th March. Within a day or two Online status changed to Application received. After a week got the usual Acknowledgement letter.

Hope this helps.

We sent ours off on 14th March and have standard acknowledgement letter and changed status - now waiting for case officer to be assigned and things to move again. It certainly does test your patience!

I dropped our ITA off today at NZ House, London and the lady I spoke to said that I should receive an acknowlegement letter within 2 weeks with my case officer's name (we'll wait and see about that one :? ) but that 'no job offer ITAs' were taking 6-8 weeks to process :(

She said that they had been inundated recently (there were at least 2 other families dropping off ITAs in the hour I was there) and so timings had slipped a bit. Said if I was to get a job offer (LOL :laugh ) in the meantime, that would fast track me.

Also asked about the medicals and she said that the 4th April deadline for the new regime was not being enforced at present - said it was all a bit up in the air. Those were her words - so not sure how 'offical' that is.

We've got a slight hitch on the NZQA front. Panicked about the new medical routine so tried to wing it on only having a preliminary qualification assessment. Said no dice - but accepted the docs and application anyway - and said that once a case officer is assigned they will ask for the report and hopefully I'll have the full monty back from NZQA by then :hopeso (rolling on the floor now knowing what other forum members dealings with NZQA have been like :eek ).

Anyway, thought this might allay some of the doubts of those who've not heard from NZIS re their ITAs. If you haven't got a job offer I wouldn't expect to hear anything until near the end of April :( - at least you know that it's just the workload and not you personally (if that's any comfort!)

Good luck all :nice1

Ah yes, dont start me on the NZQA.

For what it's worth, I submitted our ITA on 15 March and had the interview today. Possibly the lack of the NZQA report has meant you are on the back burner until they receive it.

Billy,

Do you have a job offer, or on POL etc?

Billy
31st March 2005, 07:48 AM
No job offer or POL. No reason I can think of to jump up any queue there might be.

There was no requirement for NZIS to follow up any of the evidence, meds, references etc we submitted. Maybe we were judged as being a simple assessment? I dont know, just guessing.

Ria, RoadRunner,

This will almost certainly have crossed your mind, but do remember that the estimates that Ria reports may just be "worst case".

They only got our papers on Feb 14th, then it was 2 weeks' wait until e-mail from CO. Then, after a bit of back-and-forth e-mailing between various parties, our interview was done early this month. Then there was a wait of 10 days until CO got back from leave, but after that it was only 8 days until the final thumbs-up and that INCLUDES Easter break.
So, yeah, 6 weeks, but squeeze the leave and the interview-appointment-setting back-and-forth out of that, and you may be looking at more like a month.
Oh, and our second-officer sanity check took a week or so, and it may be quicker for you guys.

Point is: there might be lots of leeway where you could pick up speed! :nice1

Cheers,
Matt.

Hi guys

For info:

We delivered our ITA on Friday 18th
The credit card cleared by 22nd - not shy there then.
Received a letter 30th confirming receipt and...

"application is currently with the queue manager"

"a case officer should be allocated within a month"

"a final decision should be made in 2 to 4 months"

Which is a bit fretful considering Mrs Xmas has to start work in Auckland in June! (Community Nurse so POL etc)

So fingers crossed and hope it's just a pre-printed letter and things move a bit quicker. :hopeso :hopeso

Sorry to badger you!

Thanks for the encouragement! :yes

You know how you just reach a point where you are READY TO GO!?!? We're definitely at that stage. Ready to put the house on the market, sell the cars, pack up, and LEAVE.

Repeat after me: Patience! PATIENCE!

Sigh. (I think it's time for a glass of wine! :nice1 )

No problem; interview was fine, I had some notes at the ready, it was all over within 10 minutes. I was a bit disappointed, I didn't get the chance to say half what I wanted to!

It was clear she was following a script, and had to write down my replies for the record. I got the strong impression the decision had already been made, and that the purpose of the talk, as mentioned somewhere above, was just to make sure I was switched on about what we were letting ourselves in for.

She strongly hinted at PR, subject to a colleague checking her assessment. She said she would let me know within 2 days; did I want a phone call or email?

Not celebrating yet.

As always, once one big hurdle has been cleared, the next set of hurdles become clearer......

Just had an email from my case officer - they wish to offer us residency, a letter is in the post today. The email arrived 21 hours after the interview, and 15 days after they received our ITA.

This will take a while to sink in, been waiting for this day for 3 years.

Good luck to all you folks still waiting for the interview.

Thanks Marie.

Planning on the north island, not particularly fussed where, somewhere out in the sticks is what we like. Coastal would be ideal, that's what we're used to.

Might try and get a flight in a couple of weeks for a recce, and then hope to get our house sold and get out there maybe by September.

Having 6 months to get the passports stamped, plus 12 months to move, gives us the option of going out next year, if nothing too appealing happens this year or we have trouble selling the house. Dont want to hold off any longer than we have to, but it's good to have that fallback.

Thanks. It feels strange, relieved more than elated at the moment.

These last 6 months have been tense, mainly due to the difficulties I had getting the evidence for my quals, and then the 3 months it took NZQA to get the assessment done.

The pressure is on now to get all the DIY about the house done.....

Hi Billy,
well done, told you you'd get it, PR too, brilliant, no hassles on getting a job immediately, staying in it etc......
i know how you feel about it being strange, when we got it, my sister said 'you dont seem very happy', but we were both just numb......took a good few days to sink in......its all i can think about now.....
congratulations & good luck with it all.....it will all turn out great i'm certain.

Thanks Paul

Her indoors said to me 'you dont seem very pleased about it'. It's alright for her, it's me who is worrying about selling the house, moving, buying, getting a job, etc etc!

Still, wouldn't have it any other way.

Cant wait for the day I hand my notice in; I've accumulated a lot of leave, so I could give my notice one day and be gone the next, fantastic! Would I be so cruel to my line manager? Possibly......

Revenge is sweet. Still, I'm not bitter, right?

I'm of the opinion that 'they' will be expecting something out of the ordinary from me, so to act normally is going to disappoint them hugely, and they'll not be able to say "yes, typical of that useless b*****"

So many options.........

Thanks MB and NW2NZ. The support on this forum is terrific, it means so much; we're all going through the same process, at varying stages.

It's starting to sink in now, finally able to tell the kids that they (NZ) really want us, the excitement is building up.

The one big problem I am finding, after all this waiting, plodding along doing the odd DIY job here and there, suddenly it has all got to be done, now.

So much to do and so little time....

An update on the timeline:
I finally received the acknowledgement letter today (March 31). The letter was addressed on the 21st, but said our application had been received on the 15th. For some reason, the letter was sent via air mail from London via Germany to the US (shrug?).

Marie, if you haven't received yours yet, hopefully you'll get it in the next day or so...

Just wish I could make sense of all the different timelines, as it seems to be following no logic. I'm a fairly patient person, but my hubby  he's driving me madddddd!!

Roadrunner - if you replied to your e-mail with a suggested date & time, you can probably take it that your suggestion has been accepted. We replied, and were waiting for a confirmation e-mail - but never received anything. The telephone interview did take place on the date & time suggested by us. So make sure you're by the phone at your suggested time :nice1
