Cheaper than postage from the US???

The postage costs are OUTRAGEOUS--or I am really cheap--but likely both.
5 lbs from the US was $45!! 40 lbs is $220:wah:wah

I am trying to figure out a better/cheaper way!!

DHL was MORE!:uhoh

Anybody come up with any creative ways to ship stuff?

What about airport to airport freight? Anybody tried this? or know costs?

This is a real bummer!

This is the option I use:
http://www.usps.com/prices/priority-mail-international-prices.htm
It's called International flat-rate. The boxes are free at the post office and you can save a wee bit off the price by buying the postage online. The price has gone up like $6 but still WAY under your quotes. However, each box is limited to 20lb and they must be in the specific international flat-rate boxes you get at the PO. (sizes are on the site)
Here is the international postage calculator:http://ircalc.usps.gov

That is a bit better.
At Christmas, Grandma was a bit shocked at the $40 for 5 lb rate!!

and I priced the 40 lb shipment on the USPS site. Still trying to get another option for this!

I guess I will try to call the airlines.

If anyone knows anything about this, I would love to hear.

Otherwise, I will post what I find.

Is it possible to split it to 2 20lb packages or is it one item? Still pricey but half the cost of your quote.
