3 Boxes back to the UK

My 17 year old has decided NZ isn't for him and is returning to the UK next month.

Any suggestions on the cheapest method for him to transport 3 boxes of items back? I thought I would speak to the agent who handled our move and get a quote to ship them back, do you think this would be the most economical way of doing it?

Thanks!

Check out excess baggage charges as well. It worked out for us to be cheaper to have our goods sent as excess baggage.

You could try these guys although I don't know if they deal with stuff coming into the UK. www.parcel2go.com

Try cargo through the airport as I paid for 2 LARGE boxes and LARGE case from Glasgow airport with Air New Zealand to Welly it cost a total of £262. Go throw the airport cargo NOT Air New Zealand as you'll find this will be cheaper.
Good Luck

My daughter is doing the same. We got a quote from one of the internatinal shippers in Chch and they quoted us $550 for 2 boxes and $60 for each additional box. Much better tha the $90 per Kg excess baggage charge.

phone up Pengellys ltd (I think the address is Sheffield cres, over by the airport) and ask to speak to mark painter, give him the box dimensions and ask for a quote. also ask him if he has any idea of the england end costs customs etc. because they can mount up and are not included in the shipping costs from that end. If nothing else it will give you a yardstick to compare other costs. while the kids are over there have they thought about backpacking round NZ as part of a year out just so they see the whole of the country before returning. (I am assuming they haven't travelled all around the islands already!)

I have shipped two good sized boxes to NZ with Simpsons for £105 odd including insurance. They supplied boxes, bubble wrap and tape and then picked up the boxes. They are now sitting somewhere waiting to go on a boat.

There are loads of companies that do this sort of thing, just google excess baggage shipping and loads of companies will pop up.
