If one goes through a PR process under SMC and ends up getting a WTR for whatever reasons, what will happen to him under the following conditions?
1. What if he cannot find a job within 3 months of entering into NZ?
2. What if he finds a job, but not in the field that he was selected for?
3. Is there a minimum salary needed to earn to be able to change WTR to PR?
4. Does he need to do the medicals and police checks again while in NZ?
5. Will him and his family be covered by the NZ Healthcare program?
Thank you so much for your time and answers.

5. If you are granted a work-permit for a minimum of two years at the time of issue, you and your family are eligible to use the NZ health service on the same terms as any NZ national or resident.

Thanks everybody. I went over the link provided by JandL and it had a lot of information I was looking for. But I was not able to find a good answer for what if I cannot find a job within 3 months and what are my option after that other than returning home.

There is no details on that question as it is not a requirement for the visa type. You have 9 months to prove yourself, not 3. If you don't get employment within that time period you could try applying for another visa type. As you would have been in the country for 9 months I don't know if you can swap to say a Vistor permit or try another WTR. I have not heard of a case on these forums of someone who has failed.
For me, if I did not believe that I could land a job in 9 months, I would be thinking seriously if a move like this was right.

Thanks again JandL. I am glad to know that I will have 9 months to land a skill job. Some reason I always thought it was 3 months. But I still hope that they will give me PR instead of WTR.
