friends, I am losing my mind!!! this waiting is getting absolutely unbearable. :wah We've been watching the processing times and it seems like we should have had a case officer by now, but we've heard nothing. Every morning, the moment we wake up we're rushing over to the computer to check if there's any word... nothing. Every night when we go to bed, "well, maybe we'll hear tomorrow..."

I know it isn't true, but it feels lately like we will never get an interview, like we will never be able to book our flights.... and I feel like a whiny brat for saying so but WAH :wah!!! WAH!!!

It seems I've read here somewhere before that "no news is good news"? Is this true?? Should we take this interminable waiting as good news????

OMG, you should read my latest post in the thread beneath this. :laugh We're going through exactly the same thing, only we haven't even had our EOI approved yet. We were shuffled between three different case officers in the beginning, then there was the Christmas holidays, and then there was the blizzard that shut down London (including the NZIS office). But other folks who had their EOIs selected on the same date as us have already had their ITAs, which of course makes us feel like something is specifically wrong with our application. :uhoh All I can do is commiserate and agree that the feeling of helplessness you get from all this is pretty freaking unbearable indeed.

I'm focusing all my "positive vibes" on trying to telekinetically nudge the little APPROVED stamp towards our file, lol. Maybe if you wish for something really reeeeeeeeally hard it'll happen??

Anyway, I wish you the best of luck and maybe someday when we're both in New Zealand drinking a Speights on the beach we can look back on this thread and laugh. :)

Trust me... it's A LOT of waiting! A LOT! And again... trust me... I know it's hard to wait! (we couldn't anymore so OH got BUNAC and I got a WHV)

It's ok if you haven't heard anything yet... it just means that they haven't gotten to you yet... but it doesn't mean that they have forgotten about you! ;) Think about all the people that are on here that are trying to get in... now think about all the people that aren't on here and are trying to get in... there are loads of people trying so don't you worry! You will get there!!

Every office is behind... The London branch is about 2 months behind on getting to your ITA... we haven't heard anything either, but we know that they have our stuff and that's good enough for me... for now :)

thank you for the support!! no word again today... maybe we'll hear tomorrow... :(

we're going snowboarding this weekend and then driving up to explore a part of the state we haven't seen yet, so hopefully these distractions will help me get through the next week and enjoy where I am right now... It's so easy to forget to do that...

This long waiting will make us crazy and probably we will end up in psycatric ward instead of New Zealand..................:yes

Wish u all waiting and especially for me best of luck :laugh and a quicker positive magical email soon from our CO.

I have submitted my ITA with Beijing branch on 10th April 2008. (My High risk country is probably the reason for my long wait). Anyway patience always bring good news inshAllah.

cheer up

don't worry, it will come soon enough. we had the same issues, jason was going out of his mind. i just tried to keep busy and think of other things...i know, easier said then done. yes, get out, see and do things that you won't be able to do so easily once you are here.

what part of AZ are you guys going to explore this weekend?

Not much to add other than:

All good things come to those that wait - but they never tell you how long you have to wait!!

Be patient before you turn into one!!

and just think about all the :bluebanana you be getting once you do here (theres one to be going on with).

Feel for you, good luck and hope you hear something very soon.

We're heading up to Chinle on the Navajo reservation. Probably won't be many opportunitites to see native american ruins in NZ, so we should take advantage of this right? ;)

yes, get out, see and do things that you won't be able to do so easily once you are here.

Remember to take you camera and take photos.
Also think about taking photos of 'normal' or 'ordinary' things, your local shops, the park, etc as a reminder of 'where I used to live.

You'll enjoy looking at them in years to come when NZ is home and it will give you something to take your mind off the wait in the meantime.

Sorry to say you just have to wait and then when you get the email that you have a CO it happens very quickly. Just keep looking for the email it will happen soon. We nearly went crazy with the wait but then WOW. We are heading to NZ in the August 2009.:clap It will happen. Goodluck.

Um... not exactly a whole bunch, no. :D

I second and third the thoughts above - do all the touristy things you can NOW, otherwise you will regret it. e.g. only times i went up the Sears Tower in Chicago was (a) as a tourist, and (b) showing other tourists around. Wouldn't have done it otherwise, so do all the stuff that tourists do! And yes, do take photos of the most mundane things. I have photos of the old street we lived on, with 5' of snow on it. Where was the road? Could but guess. :laugh

Just saw this on the London Branch's site...

http://www.immigration.govt.nz/branch/londonbranchhome/tipsandprocessingtimes/skilledmigrantprocessingtimes.htm

Once the pre-populated application form is returned to the London branch it should be allocated to a visa officer within four months. As an example, for the week ending 20 February 2009 we are allocating files lodged up to and including 19 November 2008.

:clap:nice1

Yes, I had seen that too! we should have a case officer now then...:nice1 this is encouraging. I actually got out of bed at 5 a.m. today to check the e-mail... and I'm not ashamed to say that I will probably do the same again tomorrow morning...

And thank you all for the advice about seeing the local stuff and taking photos of everyday things. I am taking this advice!! (In case anyone is interested in seeing the results, here is a link to some photos taken during this past weekend's Distraction Tour... we went to the Navajo reservation in northeastern arizona... www.lindsayandgareth.com/chelly.htm )
