Hi All
still up in the clouds with excitement, as we now have 6 weeks until we head to the Kapiti coast.

We got our passports back yesterday with the visas in them (PR - yay :clap). Looking through them there don't appear to be any clauses or anything. I am the principal applicant, but have yet to find a job, whereas my husband has found a job. Does this mean that I can find any job, not just the I.T. work I applied with (I do have other skills, but I.T. was the banker really!) Should I be looking somewhere specifically for conditions of the visas etc?
cheers

When you applied did you apply with a job offer? AFAIK if you did then this is the only time you would have an 18A clause in your visas. If not then you should be good to go!

As principle applicant, if you used a job offer to claim points, then you have to fulfill 18A. If you didn't then you don't. It doesn't matter what your partner does, even if you claimed points for his job offer, as he's not the principle. He's not bound by 18A.

Kirsty has just pointed out to me that in our case at least, the acceptance letter actually stated the Section 18A requirements. If yours doesn't then there probably aren't any.

I asked this precise question a few threads down, thanks for answering it for me. :) It makes sense though, a principal applicant gets 50 points for a job offer whereas a partner only gets 20...so therefore they shouldn't be bound by the same requirements.
