Hi All,
I am really frustrated with NZ Immigration. I got selected and submitted all my papers which were received on the 28th of October. I submitted my application when I was in Auckland, but after submitting my paperwork, I got a permanent job in Wellington and moved here.
In Jan, I received a letter stating that the processing times are now 12months instead of the usual 6. Immigration NZ cannot give me specific answers as to why that time line changed. Every time I call, they tell me that my application is in the managed queue to be assigned to the case officer. When I ask them on how many people are ahead of me, they are unable to answer that questions stating that they do not have information to it.
I recently found out from a friend, who was in the exact same circumstances, same points, same nationality, but his application was thru the wellington branch. He said his residency was processed in about 45 days.
My questions:
1. Is 45 days turn around time possible?
2. I am considering moving my application form Auckland branch to the Wellington Branch. Is this advisable? Has anyone done it before and how long does it take?
3. Whats the best way to know when I will be assigned a case officer?
