Thanks to everyone for their opinion about to reccie or not!

I am 100% up for the reccie, but OH scared of spending all our money on it, so have a compromise. We are definitely replacing the swirly 70s carpet, and the kitchen which is on it's last legs. Then try and do without a car for a bit and keep saving.

I am waiting to see if I have a place on a teacher training course here, final stage of interview next week, if I don't get a place we are going to try and sell the house and come over asap, if I DO get a place, then we are going to keep saving for the reccie trip.

Also I have got him to agree if we do happen to stumble across a few grand, we go on our trip asap!! Chance would be a fine thing though.
