Hi everyone am putting together the ITA this week for the post. I am putting in original and 1 photocopy of each thing
I have Full Birth Certificates for us all, (passports
drivers licences (do I need to send these)
Education letter / certificate.
For Andy's employment I have first and last payslips, and letter offering employment and P45 for some.
Some I have letter from company stating employment dates, (but as some of companies have gone bust (since he left), difficult to get them to do a letter)
Medical (do I open the package from the Dr and take copies of it?)
Photos (must get some more done).
Will do covering letter including a list of everything sent.
I send credit card details for the ITA fee, do you send details for Migrant levy now?
Do you get your passports stamped now, or wait until you are getting all packed up and ready to leave?
Stupid questions maybe, but want to get it right, I panic about stuff like this, it is all so scary and important.
Thanks for any advice.
Jo

Hi Jo,
You don't need to include passports at the moment if you have included certified copies of them in your ITA ( Remember, if it's not an original document you're sending then they have to be certified copies ). The only reason you would need to include your passports is if you are going to pay the Migrant Levy upfront so NZIS can issue visa's as soon as they have made their decision.
Your medical reports. I would personally open and check that the GP has signed all relevent paperwork as it has been known by some forum members that on occasions things like X-Ray certs and sig's have been left out. There is no need to include the actual X-Ray's
Cover letter is a good idea.
As I said before, your passports will be stamped if you've included the migrant levy with your ITA pack. There should be a seperate sheet included with your ITA for payment of the migrant levy.
Yes, it's scary stuff but don't panic. Everyone normal has or is going through that panic state. Don't worry it will pass. Just double check everything before you seal that big, fat envelope. :nice1
Good Luck

Jo,
don't think you need to send drivers licences (I hope not 'cos we didn't send ours!)

Jo, it depends if you need your passports back for any reason in the near future. But we sent in our passports and migrant levy fee with the ITA and told our case officer that we needed the passports back within the month because of a pre-booked holiday. She was fine with that, and our application was approved within 2-3 weeks. :cheers
Our passports were returned with nice shiny visas, leaving us with a year to get over there and activate them. I guess if you dont plan on leaving for over a year, you should hold off sending the levy fee, as I believe you have something like 3 months to pay that once your ITA is accepted. But if you're moving within the year, then I'd advise paying immediately, and getting those visa's back asap :nice1
We didnt do any photocopies.
You're not supposed to open the medicals.
I didnt send in my driving license.
1st and last payslips are always good. If you're struggling to prove your employment then check out this thread, worked for me (and they sent the details within a week)

We just provided a few different photos of us together, out with friends, and on holiday. A Joint bank accounts slip helped prove our relationship (we're not married - too young for that yet  )
Have you had the police checks done?
Goodluck

Got the medicals and checked them, I will seal them back up, but they have included the x-rays - so what is the consensus. Send Xrays or not.
Planning on moving this year, if all goes well, but know that Rhiannon's passport needs replacing by next May, not sure if I should apply for a new one early? Do you have to pay again to get your Visa put in again. (just thinking your passport usually has to have 6 months on it, and if we move in October, it will only just have 6 months, probably better to renew it already) (sorry thinking aloud). If I include passports at the moment by no ML fee, it should be like sending a just a cert copy, I suppose.
Spotted silly errors (ours) on the forms like dates slightly out on listing (only by a month having including garden leave, but payslips don't show that).
Hope NZIS don't hold the changes against me.
Will check out the thread you mentioned Mike.
Thanks

Hi,
you may have put everything you need in the envelope & you may have missed something, we missed a couple of things & they just write to you asking for them, they gave us a month to send them. As far as the x-rays are concerned, we sent everything, what did we need them for......nothing & it may have delayed things by not sending them. Just a pain to post thats all.
We sent our passports, but not the Migrant Levy, we didn't need the passports & didnt want to pay for certified copies.
As far as dates are concerned on jobs, the ones we put in on the EOI were pretty rough & when we got the letters from employers etc, there were differences, but we just explained this on the covering letter.
Put in everything you think you'll need (dont think this includes drivers licences), i dont suppose you can put in too much, but you can definitely not put in enough (mind you, if you dont put in enough, they'll just ask for it).
Good luck with it all, once we'd sent the extra docs, it took around 3-4 weeks to get it all approved.
You'll be fine.

Hi Jo and Andy,
Don't forget to write down you names at the back of the photos. Also, don't use paste or glue to stick it on. Use a stapler.
Good luck.

Thanks
was only to staple, but did not think about writing names on them.
Going to print some holiday photos too to show that I am still married.
(really so I give the case worker something to laugh about)
