I have enquired about a lovely two beddy unit in Northcote as it is exactly what I'm looking for, landlord is even cat friendly!

Thing is, it's not in a location I was looking at or familiar with. The North Shore, although lovely from memory, was not even on my radar but sometimes things intervene! I will not have a car for a while so will be completely reliant on public transport. What are the links like?

Also, as a late twenties (I hate that I am now late twenties), single female, safety in the evnings is a big factor too, as again, not driving, I have to feel comfortable walking on my own which may occasionally be late at night.

Thanmks folks!

It's seems reasonable. Like a lot of places in that part of NS, it varies from area to area. There's a good community college there. Links into CBD by bus are very good - catching a bus from Northcote to CBD is actually one of the quickest ways to get into town, as from Northcote the bus doesn't stop until it's over the bridge.

It's not massively picturesque however, unless you're lucky enough to be on Northcote Point. It's kinda 'in the middle' and nowhere in particular.
