Hi guys,

I've finally received my ITA pack (:raebanana) and have been having a browse through it. I've a question regarding the evidence of work experience. By this, I assume they require a letter from companies I've worked for. Most of the companies (and I've worked for a few as I've contracted) I can get in touch with and I'm sure they'll supply a letter however a couple of them are no longer trading. Does anyone have any advice regarding this and evidence of work experience in general?

Thanks!

Alastair

Hi there, there are a few posts on here about obtaining a copy of your tax record from HMRC, which would help you prove previous employers. Speak to your loacl tax office about which address you need to write to. For my applicxation (WTR) I also sent copy job contracts, offer letters, performance reviews, job descriptions, etc. If you have any old P45's, P60's that might help too. Good luck with your application. :nice1

Thanks Elaine, I have copies of that kind of thing so I'll dig them out, but going to get onto past employers that are still about to get a reference.

Thanks!

Hi,
I did exactly the same as Elaine. The more evidence the better, to my mind.

*nods* I sent a letter from my current employer with dates of service/role etc then just job offer letters/pay slips from previous employers which was good enough for our CO :)

Pay slips and/or old P60s would be a good way to show length of service, contract would be a good way to show work.

If you are still in contact with any of the employers / employees from the companies that are no longer trading then they can provide you with a letter e.g. worked in department for x years from a to b period etc.
