How long do you have to ship stuff?

When I came to NZ, our stuff was all shipped in my husband's name, a returning Kiwi. I was only a visitor at that time, so couldn't ship anything anyway. Now that I am a permanent resident, I am wondering about shipping some stuff I left with my daughter. Can I still do this, as I never shipped anything previously? Is there a timelimit on shipping personal goods?
Thanks for any advice.

I was under the impression that the 'reasonable time limit' was something like 2 years (not sure if that would be from arrival or when residence was granted, betting arrival though).
I think the customs website has something on it.
Lets see if I can back up what I'm rambling on about...
http://www.customs.govt.nz/travellers/Household+Effects/When+No+Customs+Charges+Apply.htm That doesn't quite cover it..
Can't find what customs considers a reasonable time though. Might just call them up and see what it is if you meet the other criteria for duty free imports.

You can import at any time, you just might have to pay duty import on it. To get a duty free version you must qualify according to these rules:

Edit: I think it might have said in my PR pack, but can't look right now!

I have fired off an email to customs, so will post their answer in case anyone else is interested.

and the answer is.............
You have five years from date of your first arrival and goods need to be owned and used by you prior to first visit any subsequent purchases etc would be taxable.
