Hello! I have my PR interview this week and need some advice.

I have a job--my DREAM job, actually--in New Zealand right now, however, NZ immigration doesn't consider it to be 'skilled employment' for the purposes of my PR application. During my interview, they want to suss out my ability to obtain such skilled employment.

Does it matter that I don't WANT to find 'skilled employment', so long as I have the potential to do so, and support myself quite well at my 'unskilled' job? I have numerous skills that would qualify me for such employment but don't really want to do them all day in the workplace...

If you claimed points towards your PR using an existing skilled job that they decide is not skilled, then you would loose those points. If you still have enough it shouldn't be a problem, but if it drops you below the mark you may have.

If you get PR without a job offer, you can do any job, in my interview I explained about the type of job I wanted in IT, the salary etc etc and was given PR, but I could go pick apples instead, as I have no conditions (think its called a section/A18). I checked this twice with INZ.

I would in your interview try to convince your CO that you have the ability to get skilled work because otherwise they might offer you WTR visa instead of PR which would mean that you would have to find a job related to your skills/qualifications in order for them to give you PR which might upset your current situation.
