Any have any info on booking last minute flights? ie with a departure date under 5 days.
We are waiting on the visa but once it comes through we will need to book flights right away.

Apparently you can sometimes pick up cheaper seats for flights which are not full say leaving tomorrow or Friday etc and the airline wants to fill the plane?

Any information would be appreciated. :nice1

In my experience, early you book less you pay. It depends on flight routes, if the route is not busy you may get some discount. Usually cheap airlines offer discount tickets especially on the airport just before the check in.

standby or bucket seat tickets used to be a big thing and a good way of getting flights cheaper but I have to say that I haven't heard anything much about them for a long time.

Ive been looking at getting flights back to the UK for potential job interviews - with AirNZ it seems little difference if I want to fly in 2 weeks time or tomorrow. Perhaps much longer is better - but seems little difference if closer to the time.

I've only noticed this close to holidays. I saw that the price to fly on Xmas day booked on the 23rd was $800 cheaper.
